Towards the end of a long career in pharmaceutical chemistry, Dawbs did not expect to become a songwriter and performer. But the feelings of uselessness and pain he experienced during the process of losing a loved one started his search for answers to life’s questions and inevitably lead him down the path of poets.
Dawbs first song, inspired as much by his songwriting idols, artists like Bob Dylan, Josh Ritter, Ron Hawkins, as by the worlds poetry, lead to his first performance for friends and family at the wake in honour of a lost loved one. And a portal had opened. The words and music would not stop coming (usually at 4am on Sunday mornings!). Song after song, each inhabited by the characters and places on the way-points on the map of his soul, came to life. Informed and inspired by his own stories of life, love and loss, channeling literature, poets, songwriters, Dawbs is still learning to capture the cosmic wavelengths that reveal the universe, inside and outside, to us all. And now he is broadcasting the message to you.
